In response to the danger resulting from a diesel engine operating in a hazardous area and over speeding to destruction, 'Chalwyn' automatic over speed shutdown valves can be fitted to the inlet manifold of most types of diesel engines. The 'Chalwyn' valve provides automatic over speed protection by completely closing off the air intake system which deprives the engine of its air and fuel. The valve is easily fitted by means of a rubber hose and hose clips, and can be easily adjusted to provide the degree of over speed protection required. No external power source is needed, the 'Chalwyn' being entirely self contained and simplicity of operation, only minimal maintenance is necessary.

D Series Engine Intake Shut Down Valves
Simple cost effective automatic overspeed protection valves requiring no external power or signals. Designed for incorporating into the engine air intake hose. Type D valves are available for intake pipe diameters up to about 229mm. Optional features include manual shutdown and integral air cleaners on some models.

	BENDIX TYPES Sizes to suit engine ratings from 1kW (1hp) to 101kW (136hp) and intake diameters from 32mm to 108mm.

	AUTO-MANUAL TYPES All standard Bendix and Spindele types are also available with the addition of a "T" handle and cable assembly to enable manual shut down.

	INTEGRAL AIR CLEANER TYPES All Bendix valves are available with the option of an integral air cleaner. Types D34F, D35BF and D39BF are only available with an integral air cleaner.

Type Z Range Automatic Air Intake Overspeed Valves with temperature, Pressure and manual Shut Down Options Suitable for Zone 1 - No power supply or speed signal required Z Series Valves Based on the automatic overspeed closure system of the "D" series valve, the "Z" series valve has the addition of flametrap housing and flanged air outlet plus the following optional features: Inout for an oil pressure signal from a shut down control system Manual start override/emergency stop cable and lever control Internal engine air cleaner Z valves are available in sizes to cover engie ratings from 9kW (12hp) to 76kW (102hp) and intake pipe diameters from 43mm to 108mm.

Type X Range
X Series Engine Intake Shut Down Valves with manual, Electrical, Air Pressure or Oil Pressure Operation Slim fitting butterfly valves with metal to metal seal. Suitable for Zone 1, Group IIB, T4 application except where started "non-flameproof"

Suitable for mounting in place of the standard engine alternator, these belt driven units are enclosed to IP66 standard in an electrically isolated housing and are fitted with automotive style internal regulators. SPARK ARRESTORS A range of 100% stainless steel ATEX standard diesel engine exhaust spark arrestors approved to EN1834:2000. Models to suit engine ratings from 7.5kW (10hp) to 350kW (500hp) and exhaust pipe outside diameters from 31.8mm(1.24") to 152.4mm(6"). Special versions with flanged or threaded end fittings can be manufactured to order. many standard sizes are available on an ex-stock basis.
